The Bellingham Mountaineers is one of six regional branches of The Mountaineers, an outdoor and conservation club based in Seattle, WA. The Bellingham branch offers programs in climbing, hiking, snowshoeing and backcountry skiing. Our branch is run entirely by volunteer members who lead trips, teach courses and provide trail maintenance. Membership provides a variety of benefits, including activities across Washington state, publication discounts and conservation advocacy.

May 6 Tues - Snow 1 Lecture for All Students. Lecture starts at 7:00 pm at the Bloedel Donovan Pavilion.

May 10 & 11 Weekend - Snow 1 Field Trip for All Students. Location: Mt. Baker Ski Area. Meeting Place: Cost Cutter Parking Lot. Time: TBD.

May 20 Tues - Glacier Travel Lecture for Basic Climbing Students. Lecture starts at 7:00 pm at the Bloedel Donovan Pavilion.

May 22 Thurs - Crevasse Rescue Practice for Basic Climbing Students. Location: Bloedel Donovan Park Time: 7:00.

May 31 & June 1 Weekend - Snow 2 Field Trip for Basic Climbing Students. Location: Mt. Baker Sites. Meeting Time: TBD.

June 3 Tues - Exams Evening for all Students. Exam starts @ 7:00 pm in the Bloedel Donovan Pavilion.

June 7 & 8 Weekend - Optional Lead Seminar for Basic Climbing Students. Location: Leavenworth. Meeting Time: TBD.

June 14 & 15 Weekend - Alpine Scramble Class Trip for Scramble Students. Location: Teanaway. Meeting Time: TBD.

June 28 Sat - Hard Snow Field Trip for All Students. Location: Mt. Baker Ski Area. Meeting Time: TBD.

(Advance Notice) June 9 -13 and 16 - 21 Wilderness First Responder Classes start each day at 8:00 am and finish about 6:00 pm. Our classrooms are at the American Red Cross, Western Washington University and Sehome Hill Arboretum. Signup for this classes with the Red Cross at 733-3290 x3022
